The Story So Far

Now approaching my 70s, my lifelong love of adventure travel continues —by bike, on foot, by motorbike. I’ve ridden mountain trails, crossed borders, and walked all the hills over 2000 feet in England. These days, I’m cycling around Britain in stages, usually solo, sometimes with family.and friends.  What began as a way to explore places has become something deeper.

I’ve come to see these journeys as a kind of personal Chautauqua—not just physical routes, but a way to make sense of things. Travel helps me reflect on old stories, shift perspectives, and stay curious. This blog is where I piece some of that together. It’s not just where I’ve been, but what I’ve noticed on the way.

Life doesn’t always follow a straight line—sometimes it’s a winding path, a detour, or a sudden change of direction. Here, I share stories that come from travelling through life without a clear roadmap, but always with a sense of purpose.
